In March 2020, the COVID-19 resulted in most university operations transitioning to a remote environment. In recent months, small numbers of employees have resumed working on campus although most employees will continue to work remotely for the foreseeable future.

COVID Prevention Plan

  • All employees should review the COVID Prevention Plan in its entirety, which offers a detailed set of operating procedures to help employees navigate safely once approved to return to work on campus.

Reporting COVID-19 Symptoms and Cases

  • University employees are required to contact the UCR COVID-19 hotline (844-UCR-6UCR) if you test positive for COVID-19, have COVID-19 related symptoms, or have been exposed to someone known to have COVID-19.
  • All employees who are working in campus owned or leased facilities are required to complete the daily COVID-19 Wellness Check when working on campus or a UCR facility.

  • All employees are required to take a brief online training to meet California Department of Public Health and Cal/OSHA requirements. 
  • Employee Health Assistance Committee has offered webinars with a review of the Wellness Check survey, campus standard operating procedures, and COVID Prevention Plan.

  • Limited on-campus research restarted in June 2020 under comprehensive research ramp-up guidelines.
  • Ongoing guidance for researchers available via the offices of Vice Chancellor for Research and Economic Development and Environmental Health & Safety
